In November 2005 looking for  the new markets and business opportunities in Asia Mr.Nyagela came to Singapore where he eventually set up the above company. The  participation in a number of fairs and festivals in the city-state landed him a contract  with the Singapore Zoo, one of the Singapore’s major tourist attractions and one of the best Zoos in the world. In July 2006 Art Africa Pte Ltd signed a deal with the Singapore Zoo to supply its gifts shop. In November 2007 Mr.Nyagela was approached by the management of the Singapore Zoo  to organize acultural event  and set up a booth  with Kenyan artefacts at the Zoo to bring in customers during the Christmas festive season. The event lasted for a month running from mid-December 2007 and was a huge success.

From January 2008 Mr.Nyagela focused his company efforts on expanding into a  new for Art Africa  but very promising USA market and established a company in Miami to cater for the new business in the Northern Hemisphere and the well-established from Canada business in the  Bahamas. The boutique shop dealing in Kenyan art in Montreal is currently managed by Mr.Nyagela’s younger brother and is part of his global business.

Art Africa business include:

• -Wholesale/retail in African artefacts, primarily arts and crafts from Kenya, handmade by local artisans (batik, banana leaf crafts, camel bones jewelry and accessories, Masai bead work and more);

• -Trade shows/festivals participation;

• - Kenyan art/crafts stall/booth set up for cultural festivals; retail/educational

• - Gift shops supplies

Mr.Nyagela’s business philosophy is based on the strong belief in the importance of tradition , commitment and hard work, meeting the customers needs and deadlines. Operating globally around the world  Mr.Nyagela nevertheless maintains close ties with his hometown community and supports many good causes including helping the refugees and orphans.
